>> BIOGRAPHY

Susan has a great love for the outdoors and spent her formative years exploring the forests and prairies in the suburbs of Chicago. She has a professional background that includes summer camp, teaching
music, working on a high ropes course, outdoor education, conservation projects, and wilderness therapy. Throughout her career, Susan has brought a sense of wonder and excitement to learning and
growing with nature for people of all ages. She has a wealth of knowledge in differentiating learning and experience-building for people with special needs.

Susan has been with Star Guides as a field guide, and assistant field director, and now works as the field director of student services. In this role, she strives to ensure the safety and well-being of the clients and
works hard to foster a culture of care. Susan understands that sending a child into the care of someone else is a difficult decision and does all she can to ensure that Star Guides is a place where parents can
feel secure that their child is valued and protected while in our care. Susan is committed to creating an environment in which our clients can thrive and feel safe to take the first steps toward recovery.

When not at work, Susan likes to spend her time hiking, camping, and crocheting things for her family and friends. She also loves to experiment in the kitchen and has a reputation for excellent baking skills.
