Parent Seminars

In addition to the other parent components of the treatment process, Star Guides hosts parent seminars three times per year and invites parents of current students to travel to the program to participate in the seminar, the field activities, and face-to-face time or family therapy with their child.

2027 seminars are scheduled for the following dates:

March 21st-22nd 2027

June 20th-21st 2027

September 26th-27th 2027

Sunday

4:00 PM – Gather at Star Guides for greetings and introductions.

4:30 PM – Dinner served.

5:00 – 7:00 PM – Interactive presentation by Doc Dan and other therapists. Topics will vary but usually focus on treatment philosophy with Q&A about anything the parents would like to discuss.

* For parents unable to attend in person, we offer a Zoom option to join the discussion.

Monday

Monday morning attendance at the solstice/equinox event is arranged with the therapist. Family therapy is available before the event on a very limited basis due to time restraints.
8:00 AM – Meet therapist at Star Guides for transport to the event site. Depending on our location, travel may take from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours.
9:00 AM (or later depending on travel time) – Family therapy or personal time with your child.
10:00 AM or later – Equinox/Solstice event
12:00 – Lunch
Between 1:00 and 2:00 PM the event is concluded.

Parents will want to make travel plans based upon arriving back in St. George from the event at around 3:30 PM
