>> BIOGRAPHY
Matt is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been working in the field of youth treatment and psychotherapy since 1995. He did his undergraduate work at BYU and earned his M.S.W. at the University of Utah. He has worked in a variety of treatment setting in his career ranging from wilderness therapy and residential treatment to outpatient treatment and state government.
He has provided treatment services to hundreds of young men and their families over the past fifteen years. He has developed a special interest in working with adolescent males and young adult men struggling with sexual offenses, pornography and sexual addiction. Matt has developed programs for youth in the areas of sexual offending and pornography addiction including the Mending The Armor and STAR Guides programs.
He is the author of Breaking Free: A Therapeutic Workbook for Youth Struggling with Pornography Addiction and its Accompanying Behaviors. ABC News Nightline recently produced an investigative report on youth pornography addiction and used Matt as their expert interviewing him about this growing problem among youth. Matt and his wife are the parents of five children.
He is a well-respected and tactical clinician for wilderness therapies, and considered a pioneer in wilderness treatment modalities. His many years of experience in the field of psychology include a wide array of treatment options for children, adolescents, and their families.
