Kena is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been working with youth for more than a decade. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Utah and earned a master’s degree in social work from Boston College. Her experience covers a wide spectrum of therapeutic environments, including prevention/intervention programs, public schools, residential treatment centers, and wilderness.

Her clients have included children, youth and adults who struggled with a variety of emotional, behavioral, learning and physical health conditions. Kena’s therapy sessions almost always include Gracie, a certified therapy dog.

Kena is particularly effective working with females who struggle with depression, trauma, self-harm, and sexual acting out. Kena has become a national expert in the area of treatment with young women struggling with trauma and wreckless sexual behavior.

Kena brings a much needed female perspective to the clinical team. A parent herself, she understands the importance of involving parents in every aspect of the treatment process. Kena and her husband are the parents of two children.
